The reason why my Bluetooth audio sounded 10x better than my CarPlay audio is because I had set my Bluetooth audio’s Equaliser and enabled logic7 (if you don’t know what this is, it’s a sound stage enhancer like Dolby) as well in audio settings. However, the EQ and Logic7 setting that was enabled was ONLY for the Bluetooth connection.There was no way for me to get to my car’s audio settings whilst using CarPlay so I plugged it in and set it as a USB Media Interface which detected my phone as an iPod. From there I was able to set the EQ and enable Logic7 for the USB media interface.After that, I activated CarPlay again and the sound was AMAZING. Full of bass, volume was louder and overall soundstage was clearer and move “colourful”.Hopefully this helps others out who are having the same audio quality problem with CarPlay connected via USB.

I think the audio quality cause and fix should be relatively the same for other infotainment systems too. Same issues as the other posts here going back a couple of days. Either crashes back the Car infotainment system or locks up completely. Shuttering audio and GPS that just locks up. On a 11 Pro Max 512Gb.

The day I noticed it I took the phone back to Apple that replaced it and unfortunately the same thing occurred. My old XS Max does the same thing on 13 as well whereas my sons iPhone 8, which is still on the most recent version of 12 works fine. The same issue is report all over this sub 😕.
