Ie untrusted certificate

A friend is having trouble on her Windows 7 laptop signing in to Gmail and other google services. A lot of probing revealed that she had a lot of entries in theUntrusted Certificates section of her Certificate Manager ( certmgr.msc). Some of these were Fraudulent (including 2 google addresses) and there were others which had other disreputable statuses. It looks as though someone is trying to hijack her PC. Can these certificates just be deleted or might deleting them have side effects on genuine software? Thanks in advance.Moved from: Windows / Windows 7 / Security & privacy / Security and privacy.
