Crusader Kings 2 Betrothal
From Crusader Kings II Wiki. Favors are a type of relationship and a sort of currency between characters, where one character is in debt towards another character because of a past action. If a courtier is above 12 but isn't ready to marry, set up a fake betrothal so other rulers can't nab them. If your income is substantial, consider.
I’ve dabbled a bit here and there, but if you know me then it’s probably from my, and if you don’t then welcome! What?Crusader Kings 2 is a grand strategy game by Paradox Interactive set in the Middle Ages, and we’ll be playing as the Kingdom of Jerusalem in the immediate aftermath of the First Crusade. Paradox games are quite popular and there a ton of megacampaigns spanning multiple games, but this thread will only tackle CK2, simply because we’re going legislative with it.Legislation? Politics?Yep, this’ll be a senatorial LP based on the of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, where you guys will take the roles of the powerful nobles and influential courtiers that come together to draft policies, make decisions and ultimately determine the future of the Kingdom. I'll go into more details on the rules and procedure in the next post, but this thread as a whole was inspired by Wiz’s Crete LP, with my own little twist and a very medieval take.gently caress senates! Goons ruin everything!Fair enough, this probably won’t be for you. You’re still free to follow the actual LP, of course, the table of contents will be regularly updated, and updates themselves will be written in such a way that you don’t have to read every single post just to follow the LP.Anything else?Yeah, I should add that this won’t be a completely vanilla experience, and I’ll be modding the game to throw a spanner in the works or shake things up whenever they become too static.
Welcome, my lords! All sitters are permitted to meet every 5 years to determine the immediate future of their realm in a formal session, during which any member may propose policy for scrutiny by the legislative and judicial body of the historical kingdom of Jerusalem — the.CharactersAs anyone who’s played Crusader Kings 2 knows, everything revolves around dynasties, so characters play a pivotal part in this LP.
If you want to actually participate in the LP, then you’ll have to claim or create a character, and from that point onward your fate in the Haute Cour will be inexorably linked to the fate of your in-game character and family. How so? Well, the King of Jerusalem is simply first amongst equals, which means that the policy of the realm will largely depend on his vassals. So the better your character performs in-game, the greater weight your voice carries in the Haute Cour, and thus in deciding the future of the realm. This is represented by the number of votes that each feudal rank has in a legislative session, with Courtiers having one vote, Barons having two votes, Counts having three votes, Dukes having four votes and Kings having five votes. These votes are then used to support or oppose various proposals submitted by members of the Haute Cour (more on that below) which are then implemented in the next update. This makes the Haute Cour inherently unfair, but we’re smack in the middle of the Medieval Age, so get used to it. And because titles aren’t exactly plentiful, this means that most starting characters will be courtiers, but they will have plenty of ways to make their voice heard all the same.Of course, we’re playing Crusader Kings 2, so I have no doubt that there will be assassinations and imprisonments and executions aplenty, and characters will be dying like flies. So I’ll try to keep an updated list of available characters for you to choose from if your dynasty happens to expire.New members of the Haute Cour have independent loyalties, but they can join up to form factions with other sitters, as outlined below.Lastly, I should mention that imprisoned characters still have votes in the assembly.
Photofeed for instagram 2.2.1 free download for mac. Audacity is an open source, and recorder.
However, in the rare occurrence where most of the realm has been imprisoned (75% of direct vassals), either by foreign invaders or civil war, the bideccennial session will be indefinitely postponed. Can't exactly have an assembly of nobles when there are no nobles.Proposing LegislationOnce the Haute Cour is in session, any lord of the realm can submit legislation, which largely consists of Policies and Laws, described below. As mentioned, members of the Haute Cour may support proposals of their choosing, with Courtiers holding one vote, Barons holding two, Counts holding three and Dukes (called Princes in-game) holding four. Also, members of the in-game Council receive two additional votes. These votes may be deposited in favour of several different proposals, but crucially, they may also be used to oppose proposals that are deemed dangerous or foolish.
If at least 1/3rd of a proposal’s votes are in opposition, then that proposal is submitted for the consideration of the King. Below is a short summary of the relevant game mechanics, which is obviously important to drafting proposals and legislation. If I’m missing out on anything big, let me know and I’ll include it, and if you want more info then just click on the headings.-Like I said above, everything revolves around characters, though in the case of this LP a lot of character actions will be treated as state actions, with some exceptions.-When a character dies, the player takes control of their heir, assuming they have managed to procure one.
This will be true for you guys as well, in terms of the character you pick from the list above — their name becomes your name, their family your family, their fate your fate.- Attributes — the skills of a character, which can lay in the arts of Diplomacy, Martial, Stewardship, Intrigue or Learning.- Traits — these form the personality of a character, including various traits such as Kind, Wroth, Zealous, Fat, Maimed, Pilgrim and countless others. Traits affect attributes and opinions, and therefore play a very important part in the capabilities and reputation of a character.- Religion — same religion characters have a higher opinion and different religions have a malus. Religion affects almost every aspect of the game, from marriage to wars.- Culture — similar to religions in that related cultures have higher opinions, but various culture may also have special abilities, buildings and succession laws. Okay, so a quick breakdown - the second post contains the list of landed characters that can be claimed at the game's start, to the second post.
They're claimed on a first-come first-serve basis, but once they've all been claimed, feel free to create your own courtier. Your courtier will be landed as soon as we come into some counties/baronies, again on a first-come first-serve basis. The third post is the Rules of the thread. They might be a bit finnicky, still not sure so I figure we'll give it a go and I can adjust on an as-needed basis. Also, I'm thinking about having 5-year updates right now, but may extend it to 10 years depending on feedback, so we'll see how that goes as well. The fourth post will have some basic info about CK2 mechanics, I'll edit them in whenever I have a chance to write it up.I want to leave some time for characters to be claimed and created, so I'll have the intro chapter up tomorrow or the day after. But you'll only actually be in-game (as a baron or count) once some land becomes available, which increases your influence to 2 or 3 votes. Also, I've edited the number of votes each character has into the second post.Hashim fucked around with this message at 21:52 on Oct 23, 2019Oct 23, 2019 21:50.Top Hats Monthly Jun 22, 2011.
